Let’s assume that these two ad campaigns have lasted an equal amount of time. In this case I think ROI and Gross Profit indexes will show us the level of success of the campaigns. Let’s start with calculation of ROI of these two campaigns:
ROI = ((Gain from Investment – Cost of Investment)/ Cost of Investment)x100%
For campaign A ROI = (($150 – $100)/$100)x100% = 50%;
For campaign B ROI = (($280 - $170)/$170)x100% = 64,7%
As we see, campaign B is better than campaign A due to a ROI index.
Lets calculate GP next.
GP (Gross Profit) = Sales – Cost of Goods Sold
For campaign A GP = $150 - $100 = 50$
For campaign B GP = $280 - $170 = $110
As we see, campaign B is better than campaign A due to a GP amount.
As a result, we can affirm that ad campaign B is more successful than ad campaign A.
