Recently some online media outlets have been falsely claiming that TeamViewer has been hacked, or that our software is insecure. Please rest assured that TeamViewer remains very secure, and that we have never been hacked or had our user data stolen.
However, users who use the same password for their TeamViewer account as they do for other online services put themselves at risk when hackers steal the account data from other, less secure services. For this reason we urge our users to use a unique password for their TeamViewer account, and to enable two-factor authentication for additional security.
