We are sorry to hear about your connection issues.
It would be helpful if you could send us your program log files for your PokerStars program. To do this, please load the PokerStars program and select the "Help" button in the right bottom corner of the main lobby. From the help menu select 'log files' on the left side. Then, please be sure to include your User ID and any details related to the reason you are sending the log files. Once you have added your detailed explanation, simply click on the green "SEND LOG FILES" button, which will automatically send the log files and your explanation to us.
Alternatively, you can select to save the log files as ZIP file by clicking on "ZIP & SAVE" button and your log files will then automatically be saved as a .zip file on your hard drive. To do this, simply follow these instructions:
1. Open the Main Lobby
2. Go to Help
3. Go to Log Files
4. Select "ZIP & SAVE"
5. Save the file to your Desktop, you may have to navigate to the Desktop as the default location is the PokerStars Settings Folder
6. Reply to this email
7. Click on Attach File (or similar option)
8. Select the ZIP file located in your Desktop or wherever you chose to save the file
9. Click OK and send the email
Please note it is important that you send us these files as soon as you can as they are only kept on your hard drive for a period of one day.
Once we receive them we will investigate further and we will let you know if you are eligible for a refund.
Following your refund request we have proceeded to an initial review and determined that your case will need further review by a Refund Specialist. In order to help us determine the reason behind your disconnection we will require that you send us your program log files for your PokerStars program.
There are any number of possible causes for a disconnection, which could be local or anywhere along the internet between your computer and our servers. These files will help us determine the cause of the problem, and offer advice and technical support, if appropriate.
Among the things we will need to know are:
Computer Processor (i.e. Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz, etc…)
System RAM (i.e. 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, etc…)
Connection Type (i.e. Dial-Up, Cable, DSL, Satellite, etc…)
ISP (Internet Service Provider) (company name that provides your Internet service)
Router/Modem (i.e Dlink DI-624, Linksys WRTG54GS, etc…)
We will also require the Network Status Report from our software. However, you have already provided such file and it will be used in the review.
However, we will also need the log files requested in our previous email. To send them please:
1. Open the Main Lobby
2. Go to Help
3. Go to Open My Settings Folder
4. Locate the file NetworkStatusReport.log or NetworkStatusReport then copy and paste it to your Desktop
5. Open the Main Lobby again
6. Go to Help and Log Files
7. Select "ZIP & SAVE"
8. Save the file to your Desktop, (you may have to navigate to the Desktop as the default location is the PokerStars Settings Folder)
9. Reply to this email
10. Click on Attach File (or similar option)
11. Select the ZIP files located on your Desktop (or wherever you chose to save the file)
12. Click OK and send the email
Please note it is important that you send us these files as soon as you can as they are only kept on your hard drive for a period of one day.
Once we receive this information we will be able to review your request and provide an accurate explanation about the issues you experienced.

Thank you for your patience while you were waiting for our response, in regards to your tournament refund request.
The nature of the Internet is such that incidents like these can happen for reasons beyond both your and our control. In this case, I can confirm that your disconnections were not caused by our servers, as at the time of your disconnection, the remaining players at your table continued to play without difficulty in your absence.
We have reviewed your playing history for the tournaments in which you were experiencing some connection issues:
As we consider you a valued player at PokerStars, we have issued a credit of $78.20 to your account for the tournaments that were adversely affected.
Please understand again that we did not suffer any server-side problems or disconnection during these tournaments. Your issues seem to have been local to your computer or Internet Service Provider (ISP); otherwise many players would have been disconnected, and that was not the case.
Part of the inherent risk of playing poker on the Internet is the possibility that Internet connections may fail for any number of reasons. From a practical business standpoint, it is impossible for us to be responsible for the Internet connections of our players.
Rule 18 of our tournament rules states, in part:
"18. By participating in a tournament, a player accepts the risk of Internet disconnection, due to problems with the connection between their computer and the servers, lag or freeze or some other problem in the player's computer or the Internet.
* a. PokerStars does not accept any responsibility for a player disconnect except in the case of a server crash."

For these reasons, we cannot make a practice of refunding tournament buy-ins in large batches of events like this and expect to continue running tournaments.
